A pioneer member and founder of the historic newspaper publication company, The Triumph and its sisters in vanicular, Albishir and Alfijr, the Emir of Gumel, Alhaji Ahmed Muhammad Sani II is dead.
He died yesterday at the age of 80 in a hospital at Cairo, Egypt, where he was receiving medical attention.
A competent source from Gumel Emirate in Jigawa State confirmed the death of the First Class monarch, said date and time for his funeral would be announced in due course.
The late Emir was the Commissioner of Information during the late civilian governor of old Kano State, Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar Rimi, who established The Triumph Publishing Company Limited and Community Television, known as CTV, which was later renamed as Abubakar Rimi Television (ARTV) after the demise of the former governor.
