The leader of the Marghi community in Kano State, popularly known as the Ptil Marghi of Kano, Alhaji Wadzani Adamu, has felicitated with Muslims across the world on the commencement of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448, urging Nigerians to embrace peace, unity, and mutual understanding.
In a goodwill message marking the beginning of the new Hijrah calendar, the traditional leader emphasized the need for continuous prayers for lasting peace and stability in Kano State, Northern Nigeria, and the country at large.
He called on residents of Kano to sustain the spirit of peaceful coexistence and support government efforts aimed at promoting harmony, security, and national development.
According to him, Nigerians should remain patient, tolerant, and forgiving while working collectively to strengthen national unity and overcome the challenges confronting the nation.
“As we enter the new Islamic year, let us renew our commitment to peace, love, and unity. We must continue to see ourselves as one people under God and work together for the progress of our country,” he stated.
Speaking on behalf of the Marghi community residing in Kano State, Ptil Marghi Wadzani Adamu congratulated Muslims worldwide on the occasion of the New Year and prayed for divine intervention in ending insecurity and other challenges threatening peace and stability across Nigeria.
He further expressed hope that Hijrah 1448 would usher in greater prosperity, harmony, and blessings for the nation and the global Muslim Ummah.
