The Kano State Government has expressed deep sorrow over the death of the Director of FM, Kano State Radio Corporation, Hajiya Habiba Abubakar.
On behalf of the Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, extended heartfelt condolences to the management and staff of the Kano State Radio Corporation, the media community, and the immediate family of the deceased.
In a statement issued on Friday, Comrade Waiya described the late Hajiya Habiba Abubakar as a dedicated, hardworking, and humble media professional who served the Kano State Radio Corporation with commitment, integrity, and distinction throughout her career.
He noted that she made significant contributions to the growth of broadcasting and information dissemination in Kano State, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism, diligence, and selfless service.
According to the Commissioner, her death is a painful loss not only to her family and colleagues but also to the entire media industry in Kano State, where her exemplary service and humility will be greatly missed.
Comrade Waiya prayed to Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive her shortcomings, accept her good deeds, grant her eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus, and give her family, friends, and colleagues the strength and fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
