The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has dismissed allegations that it sold 69 nomination forms to former Kano State Governor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to facilitate a takeover of the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
The allegation was reportedly made by Abdulkadir Guza, who claimed that Kwankwaso had procured 69 PRP nomination forms as part of a plan to hijack the party’s structure.
Speaking with journalists on Monday, the PRP National Secretary, Alhaji Musa Maigari, described the claim as false and baseless, stressing that all party positions had already been filled following the conclusion of primary elections.
“As it stands, all positions in PRP have been filled. Primary elections are over, and every political party has concluded its primaries,” Maigari said.
He further stated that the individual behind the allegation has no affiliation with the party.
“The man who raised these allegations is not even our member. It is laughable that at a time when primaries are over, someone is still talking about primaries or nomination forms,” he added.
Maigari maintained that there is no record of any transaction involving the sale of nomination forms to Kwankwaso or any of his representatives at the party secretariat.
He noted that the allegation appears ill-timed, especially as the party has already concluded its primary elections for the next electoral cycle.
The PRP secretary urged members of the public to disregard what he described as unfounded rumours and to rely only on information released through the party’s official channels.
