The Executive Chairman of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, Alhaji Anas Muktari Bello (Dan Maliki), has been commended for his outstanding commitment to grassroots development and educational advancement, with stakeholders describing him as one of the best-performing local government chairmen in Kano State.
The commendation came from the Chairman of the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) of Government Girls Arabic Secondary School, Dawanau, Alhaji Abdullahi Maikano Dawanau, during an inspection visit to the ongoing construction of classroom blocks at the school’s permanent site.
According to him, the school, which was established in 2008, had operated for nearly 18 years without a permanent site, moving from one temporary location to another.
He noted that the challenge was recently resolved through the intervention of the Dawakin Tofa Local Government Chairman, who secured a permanent site for the institution.
Alhaji Abdullahi Maikano stated that the prompt response of Alhaji Anas Dan Maliki to the community’s concerns demonstrated his commitment to addressing the needs and aspirations of the people, particularly in the education sector.
He further explained that beyond securing the land, the Chairman also pledged to construct classroom blocks for the school and has since fulfilled that promise through phased project implementation.
The first phase of the project, comprising two blocks of four classrooms, has reached an advanced stage of completion, while the second phase, consisting of two blocks of six classrooms, is also progressing steadily.
The PTA Chairman, who also serves as the Public Relations Officer of the Dawanau Coalition of Community Development Associations, expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of the work, describing the Chairman as a leader dedicated to solving the developmental challenges facing the area.
He added that the impact of Alhaji Anas Dan Maliki’s administration is evident across various communities within the local government through the execution of new development projects and the renovation of existing facilities aimed at improving the living conditions of residents.
Alhaji Abdullahi Maikano therefore called on other elected representatives and political office holders from the area to emulate the Chairman’s exemplary leadership and commitment to development in order to accelerate progress across the constituency.
