Katsina State Governor has signed the 2027 Appropriation Law, commending the State House of Assembly for its speedy consideration and passage of the budget.
Speaking during the signing ceremony,at Government House Banquet Hall on Wednesday,Radda described the achievement as a collective success involving the executive and legislative arms of government.
He noted that,the 2027 Appropriation Law provides for a total expenditure of ₦828,578,844,091.48, covering both recurrent and capital expenditures.
Governor Radda noted that the 2027 budget was signed on September 30, making it two months earlier than the previous year’s appropriation law, which was assented to on November 17.
He also commended the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning for the early preparation of the budget proposal and thanked members of the State Executive Council and lawmakers for their support in ensuring its successful passage.
The governor described the 2027 budget as a “people-oriented budget,” emphasizing that it was developed from grassroots inputs rather than top-down directives.
He urged ministries and implementing agencies to ensure timely execution of projects and programmes contained in the budget and to focus on delivering tangible benefits to citizens.
The signing ceremony was attended by principal officers and members of the Katsina State House of Assembly, members of the State Executive Council, top government officials, party leaders and other stakeholders.
Earlier Katsina State House of Assembly has formally presented the 2027 Appropriation Law to Governor Dikko Radda following its passage by the legislature.
The Speaker Alhaji Nasiru Yahaya said ,the Assembly had completed all legislative processes required for the approval of the budget.
He said the approved 2027 budget stands at ₦828.58 billion, comprising ₦190.73 billion for recurrent expenditure and ₦637.85 billion for capital expenditure.
The Speaker congratulated Governor Radda for becoming the first governor in the country to sign the 2027 Appropriation Bill into law, describing the development as a demonstration of the administration’s commitment to timely planning and governance.
