Gombe State command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has graduated 58 private security personnel from nine licensed Private Guard Companies (PGCs).
The graduation followed successful completion of its Second Quarter Capacity Building Programme.
The two week training, held between June 22 and July 3, 2026, took place at the Federal Secretariat in Gombe.
The programme was organised to enhance professionalism among private security personnel and strengthen collaboration between private and conventional security agencies.
Speaking at the passing-out ceremony, the Head of the Private Guard Companies Department, Deputy Commandant of Corps, Mr. Jimoh Otaru Isa, said the training was designed to equip participants with the knowledge, discipline and practical skills required to effectively augment the efforts of security agencies.
He noted that private security personnel play a vital role in intelligence gathering and the protection of lives and property, making them an important part of the state’s security framework.
Mr. Isa urged the newly trained guards to uphold professionalism, integrity and dedication in the discharge of their duties.
He stressed that the programme was aimed at improving service delivery and promoting stronger synergy with other security agencies.
The participants were drawn from nine licensed private guard companies: A Koli Security Company, Spider Web Security Company, Pama Global Security Company, Nagari Security Company, Kombat Security Company, Edge Security Company, HNB Security Company, Zuhkuruf Security Company and Amazack Security Company.
The training featured sessions on physical fitness, parade drills, intelligence gathering, surveillance techniques, incident reporting, beat management, professional ethics and fire prevention.
The fire safety aspect of the programme was facilitated by the Federal Fire Service, in the state.
In a statement issued by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Malam Buhari Sa’ad, the commandant of the command, Alhaji Jibrin Idris, represented by Deputy Commandant of Corps Suleiman Gana, charged the graduands to remain disciplined, loyal and law-abiding.
He described private security guards as strategic partners in the state’s security architecture and urged them to avoid misconduct, collaborate effectively with security agencies and contribute to sustaining peace and security across the state.
